    "had a great time and the hotel location was a good part of that." (107913508)

    great location - just outside is central Birmingham with all the shopping cafes and restaurants, plus there was an xmas german market just up the road. went on a day trip to Lichfield and New St Station is just nearby... really convienient and a nice room... good size with en-suite very pleasant. huge bed too lots of space.

    the bath drainage didnt work at all well. tv remote didnt work either. fire alarm went of at 1am but seemed to be a false alarm. room access card didnt work the second night had to get a replacement. entry from lift filled with unpacked furniture... a bit strange.

    Got to have a shower!

    Took one hour to check in. Having inexperienced staff member working on a busy day! Television didnt work. Allocated to a smoking room when a non smoking was reserved. Room very shabby and 8th floor smelt obviously of smoke. Was due to stay another day but I cancelled after first experience.

    "We have stayed at the Brittania many times,but was very dissapointed this time.The hotel could do with a re-furb as the furniture and carpets are old and tatty.Until this is done we wont be staying here again.However our stay in Birmingham was as always excellent,spoilt by the hotel."     Great location for shopping/german market etc.Central for superb night life. The hotel staff were polite and helpful.

    Check-in was poor,only one person on desk at 18:30hrs when reception was very busy.We finaly got our room at 19:00.Although the bed had clean bedding,it had an old materess(springs collapsed/poking through).The room was in need of a vacuum and dust was thick on furniture.7 new condoms were found in bedside draw,had the room been cleaned and checked properly they should have been removed.There is NO car parking at hotel,nearest is NCP Pallasades £13.50 for 24hrs parking

    Great central location,friendly helpful staff, good breakfast and excellent value for money.

    Hotel has been redecorated; however, fixtures and furniture in the room are dated. Single glazing means noise from front facing rooms.

    The hotel was in a very good central location, which was perect for my requirements. No problems with checking in or out. Very little noise - a big bonus.

    The TV remote didn't work very well, which was no great hardship.

    Clean towels and sheets. Heating on and plenty of hot water.

    Could do with better decoration, especially the bathroom needing up-dating. Could hear at times banging next door.

    A reasonable rate for a city centre hotel. Room was large and despite booking a single I was allocated a double room.

    The decor of the room was very tired and looked as though it's been in need of a lick of paint for a very long time. The mattress seemed to have a block of wood on top it it; the dressing table was in need of a good clean & varnish; the TV looked like something out of the 70s; the windows were dirty; there was only one spare electric socket and the whole room was just very tired. Having said that I'd probably run the risk of staying again, if only because it was relatively cheap.

    The room was finished off really well (good quality furniture) and had all the facilities we needed. The Jacuzzi bath was amazing.

    There was a large queue to check-in - it took us approx 10 minutes of waiting. Also the room did not have windows and someone had left the heating on at 28 degrees - so it was really hot when we first got there - if we hadn't gone out and left the air conditioning on it would have been horrendous. Spent ages trying to find the room as the room numbers were not sign posted.

    Temperature, Water heat and pressure, Size, The reception had a warm feeling and i was allowed an early arrival time with no charge.

    Terrible Customer service, Unwilling to help, Unknowledgable and Rude. the bedding was mismatched, The door was left open from, i can only assume a housekeeper who entered my room for no aparent reason. Very Inappropriate

    Full indifferent staff at check inn, the inaccurate data and period of stay and incorrect payment. Rooms - try to wash the windows, missing light bulb in the lights and lamps, promised shift, but nothing happened. Breakfast - the staff is not interrresser for what happens. Kitchen - VERY dirty

    very low in cleaning carpets old and stained late night check in very poor; I asked indication by phone on how to reach the hotel and the man was talking in such a strict slenght that it was impossible to understand; moreover I felt it was not willing to help

    The restaurant area and breakfast was very good value for money.

    I booked the overnight stay for my wife and a friend a a Birthday present. It would appear that the accomodation left a lot to be desired

    "I stay in a hotel every 3 weeks and wanted to find a good hotel that I could stay at every time and to be honest if I could have found another hotel that had rooms I would have gone there and left the britannia. I will not be going back." (107143207)

    The Gentleman behind the bar was very polite and helpful and did what he could to answer my questions. He was the only one.

    One woman serving in the dining room was shouting at the chef. She dropped cutlery on the floor and then picked it up and put it onto the table ready for someone to eat with them. My room had not been hoovered and was covered in crumbs and other debris. The bedding had burn holes in it and that was in a non smoking room.

    "the room in Britannia Hotel is awful. there is no electricity because the fuse was broken.The bathtub drain needed repairing because water couldn't drain away." (107164944)

    the system is terrible. We booked the Britannia Hotel Birmingham, but actually not this hotel but another hotel in birmingham. We waited for more than one hour and couldn't get into the room because the money i had paid in the internet couldn't transfer to Britannia Hotel. So i paid again and still waiting for the refund to my credit card.

    It is near the NIA venue, where we saw Duran Duran in concert approximately 10 mins walk. It was in the centre of town. Staff are friendly, morning breakfast was of good quality.

    The room was shabby, bits missing off of the bathroom taps, and the toilet overflowed over the bathroom floor whilst we were out.

    Good staff, particularly at reception. Very convenient for rail access.

    Air conditioning was a constant and despite repeated requests was not turned off. I now have a severe head cold as a result.

    The hotel was close to where my course was, restraunts and shops. The staff was very helpful especially the restraunt and kitchen staff.

    Hotel was dirty and supposedly in the middle of a refurbishment.But where? Lifts did not arrive,Another guest walked into our room having been given the same entry card as ours.Motor from boiler? or air conditioning? going all the time outside our window.

    Room a bit dirty (perhaps old) and too noisy at night as it is too close to the shopping centre. No hot water at night (only hot water available in the morning) Bed squeaky. TV not clear (only has 8 or 9 channels)
