    Large airy room. Excellent breakfast.

    Some things are a bit 'tired' eg the bathroom floor covering wrinkled and required renewal.Entrance porch a bit run down

    Very clean, good breakfast facility, excellent storage of luggage after check out time, friendly staff.

    On a Thursday evening the bar closes at 11pm. After visiting the Royal Albert Hall for a concert it would have been nice to have a quiet drink in the bar before bed. A closing time of 11.30 or 12.00 would have allowed us to purchase a drink.

    Very good location, especially if one has an appointment at the French Embassy. Also, I think the bathroom was clean and well-maintained, in contrast to the room itself.

    Room was small, very basic. In terms of value for money, I think it was overpriced. For example, a kettle was provided but the only working plugpoint was located on the floor beside the television !

    The family room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was simple but good with adequate choices to make each day. We did not feel bored about the same food and fruis for six days. Free Internet access was a good compliment. One great advantage of the hotel was its location, very near to South Kensington Station, from which we could travel to other regions of London with great ease and convenience. The taxi stand was most convenient.

    Toilet facilities were found wanting and inadequate. One small piece of soap was expected to last many days. You sorely needed a clock soemwhere in the room. TV programmes could be further improved, going beyond BBC and CNN. Sound insulation could be improved too as we were waken up several time at night by noises from people walking one level up our room. Simiarly, we could quite clearly make out sounds from the toilet next door, such as flushing of toilet, etc.

    We only had to stay one night

    We had a business event and on our arrival their was no water, the following morning their was no hot water. For a business user these are key areas which you need. We also met a few people in the hotel who said they would not be using it again, we agreed.

    Excellent location, a few minutes walk from the tube and plenty of restaurants on the doorstep. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean and the bedrooms are spacious. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice.

    The main problem with this hotel was the room being very warm and I was unable to open a window as it led straight onto a fire escape. Although the age of the hotel gives it character some areas of the hotel and the room looked a bit old and scruffy but these could be easily rectified. The blankets on the bed reminded me of when I was a child and before the days of central heating, I would recommend that the hotel remove these and leave in the cupboard for guests to have if required. The bed was a bit too soft for my liking but I guess that is down to personal taste.

    Staff were extremely helpful. Breakfast choice was comprehensive. Very convenient loccation.

    There was a large damp/peeling patch on one wall (behind the TV, so there was no avoiding it) of our twin room. All of the woodwork was chipped & needed painting. The bathroom was stiflingly hot.

    "I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place to stay that is central. The rooms are clean and spacious, the staff are friendly and helpful.Just a few minutes walk from the Natural History and Science museums. just across the road from South Kensington tube station linking you to all the popular places people want to see when staying in London.     Fast,friendly and efficient check in. Lovely big room with a very generous sized bathroom for a central London Hotel. Excellent standard of cleanliness. Excellent choice of food at breakfast (included in price of stay) Generally very pleased with our stay overall.

    the room was bigger than i expected, the hotel was really good for the price. breakfast was nice, lots of choice, very close to the tube station

    the shower in our room was faulty, the tap would not stop running and we were told it would be fixed while we went out. we got back and it was not fixed. at 1am we were offered another room, which was aparently the best room in the house, but that shower did not work properly eitha, as we discovered the next morning

    "Clean and comfortable large room. Decor a bit dated, although I think this added to its character, and could certainly do with a coat of paint and new carpets in places. Included breakfast was good value. For the price I paid of £69 I think this was very good value. The price does seem to vary a lot though depending on the time booked I suppose, and I wouldn't pay a lot more than this." (97435195)

    Very efficient check in and out. Large room, comfortable bed, very powerful hot shower. Convenient location for museums and Royal Albert Hall.

    Could do with redecorating, sliding secondary glazing window very stiff to open. (Had to open it for some ventilation) Creaky floorboards.

    "This hotel was advertised as a 4* hotel - it really was not. The room was v shabby and although not dirty was not a pleasant place to be. The shower dripped, and then did not deliver any hot water (the bath taps worked OK) The bath pannel was broken and floor tiles in the bathroom were chipped. The gripper rod from bedroom to bathroom poked through the carpet and cut my toe. The light on desk did not work" (3305291458)

    "Generally speaking, this hotel is very good value for money. It is centrally located, near to the major museums on Brompton Road (Victoria and Albert, Natural History, etc.), as well as to the Tanaka Business School (Imperial College) and Harrod's. The metro stop is also across the street, which is very convenient in a city like London. South Kensington is full of British and international restaurants, all within walking distance of the Hotel."     The Regency-type decor in the bedrooms, and throughout the halls and lobby area. I also appreciated the fact that the hotel had bidets.

    It would have been advisable to have air-conditioning, especially during the heat wave that was taking place when we were visiting London.

    Very conveniently located, across the street from London Underground and one block from the Victoria and Albert Museum. Very good breakfast!

    The weather was hot, but the elaborate air conditioning controls in the room didn't really do anything. There was a portable fan though, which helped in sleeping. The shower was inadequate in multiple ways, but that was little different from any other place I've stayed in Britain. I did have to fix the showerhead positioning device myself with the aid of a sturdy rubber band. Very effective if I do say so myself!

    "We arrived mid afternoon.Check in was swift and efficient.Our room was comfortable,clean and quiet.We were able to have a rest,shower and cup of tea before going to The Royal Albert Hall.This was an enjoyable walk away of less than half a kilometer. After the show we went back to our room ,had a cup of tea and retired for the night.In the morning we showered and then had a lovely buffet Breakfast.We then watched TV until 11a.m.when we checked out.Everything was excellent!"     Friendly and helpful receptionist when checking in,good location,breakfast is included in rate and not bad.

    False alarm of fire alarm at 6am,caused by someone's shower producing 'steam'! On second night,had no hot water in bath, so could not shower....plumbing is not the strength of the hotel...

    it was convenient and the staff were nice and friendly. But generally the hotel was disappointing and in serious need of a lick of paint.

    The breakfast room did not supply trays and when i asked they thought it was strange that i wanted a tray to carry breakfast plate, fruit juice and coffee. The sheet and blankets did not look very nice and my husband slept on top of the bed. The room generally was in need of an update.

    "This hotel is located in a lively and safe nieghbourhood - half block from Underground station, lots of restaurants, close to museums. Good sized rooms (for London). My room was at the back (away from the street) and quiet enough to leave the window open all night. Hotel is old, and showing signs of wear, but adequately maintained and cleaned.     close proximity to our event that we were attending

    the receptionist had very poor english we had water coming through our ceiling in the bathroom and all we were told is that it would be reported to maintenance and there was no managers available to talk to also that there was no room service available and the bar closed at 1100pm and we were told we were not allowed to buy any drinks after that time even if we took them back to the room. I also complained that there was no hot water for me to shower in on sunday morning and I feel this is a basic necessity of any hotel.
