  "We will probably stay again as the accommodation is reasonable for that area of London and its proximity to museums. In future I will ascertain the size of the room. The flex for the kettle was too short to have the kettle on the table." (97082879)

  The accommodation was basic but clean. Bedlinen was fine. I booked a twin room but we got a family room of 2 beds and 2 x 2 bunks.The Hisel is very central for museums etc and the nearness to Kensington, the reason for our visit being an exhibition in Kensington Town Hall

  The noisy ventilator? fixed to the room ceiling buzzing all night. The smell of urine in the shower/loo

  "we had a 5 bed room that turned out to be 2 bunks and a single. the whole building is no smoking. the building is actually the scouts headquarters (baden powell house) so there were scouts everywhere. The breakfast wasn not good. but it was cheap and clean so we got what we paid for. be aware that even though you give all details on booking, check in will take a while because of the extensive check in questionnaire for every member of your group, Name, DOB , Profession, Address, etc etc." (99097649)

  The room was clean, spacious, and the building easy to find.

  das zimmer, entsprach nicht dem, was wir gebucht haben. ein doppelzimmer war nicht mehr verfügbar und somit mussten wir ein gemeinschaftszimmer bewohnen. auf den wiederholten wunsch, das zimmer zu ändern, reagierte das personal zunehmend unfreundlich. schließlich sind wir vor der uebernachtung ausgecheckt, ohne das wir eine erstattung des preises bekommen hätten, nur mit dem hinweis, wir könnten uns im nachhinein beim management beschweren und auf eine entschädigung hoffen.

  "Comfortable and secure; we are confident reusing the hostel every year and recommending it to other teachers in other schools." (107965924)

  We have been using the Meininger Hotel (Baden Powell Hostel) for our A Level pupils for about the last ten years in order for us to visit major Art Exhibitions and Galleries and its location, high standards of cleanliness and organisation and its type of accommodtion makes it ideal for our purposes.

  The wonderful coffee machines are mssing from the dining room!

  "An uncomfortable and unpleasant experience" (107113614)

  Even for a basic, no frills hotel, the quality of the decoration and facilities in the room was extremely poor. Tiny bed. Stained/dirty curtains. No working television. Uncomfortably small toliet/shower-room clearly designed for size 0 models! No working lift to fourth floor room.
