    "I thought it was illegal in terms of fire safety, in an unsafe area, unpleasantly noisy through the night because of people moving around to toilets, and very poor value for money at £99 per night, and am not surprised that no photo is provided on the web as it is so poky. I will never book online again without seeing the hotel photos - altogether I feel this is far more of a boarding house than a proper hotel and advise others who are looking for reasonable hotel accommodation to avoid it."     Hotel is accessed by narrow staircase from street (tiny sign - unknown to taxi-drivers!) which is the only access, and has NO FIRE ESCAPE - in my view this is illegal and is definitely not good practice for a multi-floor hotel. Smallish room, no toothglass provided, no tissues or hairdryer, only 4 channel TV, horrible outlook onto rundown buildings. Noisy doors banging all night, area outside unsafe at night evidenced by people drinking outside neighbouring pub and my taxi driver warning me against using the next door Underground station at night and staying to be sure I got through the street door OK. Did not like having to go out of street door and into the cafe on ground floor for breakfast - it was noisy and draughty.

    The hotel was very clean. The reception staff were very helpful.

    Not enough blankets. Because I was in a single room, the bed was pushed up against the radiator, due to lack of space. Therefore couldn't have the radiator on and my feet hung out of the bed, which resulted in a cold night's sleep!

    "Highly recommend staying in this hotel - 15mins from Liverpool St Station and 15mins from Oxford Circus, location is ok for females walking alone at night, enough amenities around for snacks and meals, and various transportation methods are literally on your doorstep.     Very clean, small but functional & comfortable room with constant hot water and modern facilities. Market, Cafe/Restaurant, Internet shop, tube station and bus-stop to Liverpool St Station located beside hotel, which is also within walking distance of London Bridge.

    Very small single room and needed to share a bathroom, although it was a very well presented, clean and stream-lined bathroom!

    Located adjacent to borough tube station. Sufficient for one night stay to be ready for business the next day.

    Got much better value for money staying at the Hoxton Hotel.

    Considering this hotel is next door to the tube station, it is surprisingly quiet at night - although I did have a room at the back of the hotel. The room had 3 beds - 2 singles & a double - which was quite spacious for one person. The shower was excellent for this standard of hotel & the staff very helpful.

    The entrance is very narrow with a short dog-legged staircase - very difficult to get up the stairs & no lift.

    TV Ariel cable broken (the spare bed in the room had been pushed against it) Noise from upstairs (foot steps and banging) but what hotel doesn't have that! Plug in sink slowly leaked the water

    Good value for money in the central part of London. Maintained very well.

    Windows could not be left open for long as the smell of cooking from Kitchen downstairs fills the room.

    Quiet, clean, comfortable and convenient for tube and central London. The lovely big fluffy towels and plentiful hot water in the showers are a joy after a hard day.

    Adjacent to Borough Tube Station. Very clean,new decor. Comfortable bed and excellent shower. TV/tea/coffee/kettle in room & a large fan.

    No lift,could be difficult with luggage. No sitting or dining area though good restaurant next door.

    Location was excellent for the centre of London and access from Kings Cross, St Pancras and Euston - direct 10 mins on the Northern Line. They're not kidding when they say it's next to Borough Tube station - it is right next door. 5 mins walk to London Bridge - 10 mins to HMS Belfast - 15 mins to Tower Bridge, Tate Modern and the Globe, without the noise and hassle of the city centre hotels. Very clean and well maintained. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting London for a few days.

    Only disadvantage would be for the less able traveller - there are steep access stairs.

    One more extension lead in the room would have made it easier to operate kettle, light, and hair dryer without having to unplug an item.

    "Room was Extremely clean -- even back of television! Bed was very comfortable, Lots of hot water in a large shower, plus fluffy soft towels.     Very convenient to Borough station on London Underground.

    No lift. Not a problem for me. Elderly might not want to get a second or third floor room.

    "We Loved it! We Loved it! We Loved it!. Hats off to reception and house keeping. Hats off to designers .. spacious room and bathroom. Modern furniture clean and fresh daily. OOo I could go back now. It's the best in London for us so far. Restaurants, supermarkets, trains, buses all within 2 mins or less of walking! No one will regret staying there!     Reception was very friendly, accommodating even though we checked in way earlier than the usual time.Housekeeping is superb, clean towels everyday and carpets were vacuumed daily; from the entrance you could smell the fresh linens and just clean , immaculate place. Their customer service skills are great compared to other small hotels in London. We've done other budget hotels in London and London City hotel gets Straight A's from us compared to F's from the other filthy hotels. Furniture and equipment are very modern, new and clean. It's livable and it's basically upstairs the train station so close to tube and many buses- we loved that. The outside appearance doesn't serve the inside any justice, but that's not what matters most. Very comfortable beds and pillows ooo so soft; and mattress I can tell is expensive. ooooo I can go on about the service.. Very impressed. I will come back!

    No phonelines ... but hey.. sim cards and phone cards for cell phones are cheap in london so we got to buy one sim card for 3#s with enough credit to last our stay.

    Very friendly management and staff, extremely welcoming. Lovely shower, endless hot water, very generous towels. Super comfy bed, plenty of wardrobe space. Coffee/tea facilities were excellent, being replenished quite generously every day. Room felt clean and comfortable at all times.

    No reading lights over bed or room light pull-switch. Shortage of power points, no bed-side tables. For us (64 year-olds) the stairs were the main problem

    Central location, near to shops and restaurants. Clean, tidy and mostly quiet.

    Reception wasn't open on Sunday morning when I left (admittedly, this was very early at around 7am) and there was no key deposit, so I had to leave the keys in the room. It would be useful to have some Internet access in the hotel and some chilled water / cold drinks machine.

    it was lovely and clean and the extra touches like tv and hairdryer and coffee/tea were great. great power shower.

    the only draw back was it was very hot and the room was hot but because the room was on the road side it wasnt possible to have the window open during the night -so the romm got unbearably hot and the fan which was very effective during the day was too load to have on and fall asleep.
